Linebacker Jonathan Freeny, who spent time with the New Orleans Saints during the latter part of the 2017 regular season, has a new team.
Freeny signed a free-agent contract with the Detroit Lions, the team announced Monday morning (March 26) on Twitter. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-2, 255-pound Freeny previously visited the Lions during free agency, and the signing reunites him with former New England defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, who is now the head coach in Detroit.
