Drew Brees will not be the league’s best fantasy quarterback in 2019. While he may captain the New Orleans Saints to the league’s best record, his fantasy numbers likely won’t be what they once were.
Brees is just two years removed from a league-leading 5,208-yard season. He was dominant, throwing 37 touchdowns, an average of over two per game. However, over the past two seasons, his numbers, especially for fantasy purposes, have dipped.
Last season, Brees threw for under 4,000 yards which was the first time he failed to hit 4k this decade. While fantasy owners may’ve been worried, Brees’ Saints were 13-2, the best finish of his career with the team eventually losing the last game, entering the playoffs at 13-3 so the team’s owner and dedicated fanbase certainly weren’t.
