Drafting Saints players can often be hit or miss in fantasy football, outside the obvious appreciation everyone should have for Drew Brees. Brees finished last season as the No. 3 quarterback in the league, thanks to another 5,000 yard performance.
This season, Evan Silva of Rotoworld doesn’t envision much, if any, dropoff. They have Brees ranked as QB3 this season as well. However, based on standard scoring leagues, ranking third for QBs isn’t even as valuable as the No. 17 running back, who happens to be rookie Christian McCaffrey of the rival Carolina Panthers. There just isn’t enough of a gap between Brees and the rest of the QBs to warrant taking him higher than the fifth round in a 12-team league.
