METAIRIE, La. -- So much for C.J. Spiller's big opportunity to work his way back into the New Orleans Saints' good graces.
Spiller finished with just nine yards on six touches this past Sunday in the Saints’ first game without injured starter Mark Ingram. Fellow running back Tim Hightower, meanwhile, ran away with the leading man role in New Orleans' 24-17 victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Hightower ran the ball a career-high 28 times for 85 yards and a touchdown, plus he caught one pass for 10 yards in his inspiring comeback performance.
