ESPN made a radical change for its collegiate and pro football coverage this week, moving its Sunday NFL Countdown show on-site to preview the hours-away game between the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams. It’s just the third time in 33 years that the production has left ESPN’s home studio in Briston, CT.
But they weren’t content to just record before a raucous home crowd of Saints fans. Sunday NFL Countdown’s sister program, College Gameday, was in Baton Rouge on Saturday to celebrate that night’s LSU Tigers-Alabama Crimson Tide showdown. So we ended up with a crossover, with College Gameday co-host Lee Corso making the trip down to New Orleans for his signature headgear pick.
