Eli Apple joins crowded class of 2020 Saints free agents

The New Orleans Saints handled their business in the offseason, signing a number of free agents while working out contract extensions with some of their own players and navigating the 2019 NFL draft. They’ve set themselves up to handle the upcoming regular season (and, hopefully, the playoffs) well.

But every move made this summer will echo into the future. That means keeping in mind the players whose contracts are set to expire in 2020. Here’s that list, which now includes cornerback Eli Apple. The Saints declined to pick up his fifth-year contract option, which would have cost more than $13 million next season.
