On Tuesday, the Saints sent off their fourth round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and their seventh pick in 2020 to the New York Giants in exchange for cornerback Eli Apple. It’s a potentially great move for the Saints but many Who Dats aren’t happy for the simple fact that Eli Apple isn’t Patrick Peterson.
Don’t get me wrong, Patrick Peterson would have been an amazing addition to this squad. A player like that would have made the Saints secondary easily one of the scariest in the league for opposing offenses. And while the trade deadline is still not here yet, the changes of Peterson becoming a Saint are now officially slim to none.
