New Orleans Saints quarterback, Drew Brees, took to Instagram today to post a picture of himself, hand, wrist and forearm in a cast, giving the thumbs-up sign. He had been in surgery this afternoon, Wednesday, Sep. 18, to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing hand which had been torn on a freak play in the first quarter of Sunday’s road loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
The incident happened last Sunday when, in the process of making a pass and in the continued forward motion of his arm, the thumb on Brees’ throwing hand hit Rams defender Aaron Donald’s upraised hand.
