Drew Brees praises Teddy Bridgewater's leadership during five-week absence

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees returned from an early-season thumb injury and improved his team’s record to 7-1, sending them into the bye week with a win over the Arizona Cardinals. But Brees took time to thank his backup, Teddy Bridgewater, for the leadership and poise he showed during the month-long absence in which Brees was sidelined after surgery. He knows the Saints wouldn’t be where they are now without Bridgewater’s contributions.

“I can’t say enough great things about Teddy and his leadership over the last five weeks,” Brees said during his postgame media availability.
