New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees nearly threw a perfect game in his team’s blowout win over the Philadelphia Eagles, completing 22 of his 30 pass attempts for 363 yards and 4 scores. But the future Hall of Famer knows perfection when he sees it, and he found this 48-7 victory to be lacking.
After the game, Brees was spotted by ESPN’s Dianna Russini poring over the official game stats report and cursing quietly to himself. When she asked what he could have been possibly been upset about after winning in such dominant fashion, he answered:
“If we score that last TD we would have been 5 for 5 in the red zone.
