Drew Brees explains how Nolan Ryan has helped with his weekly routine

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has spent nearly two decades modifying his weekly routine, and as he explained some of his methods after practice Sunday, he mentioned that he's turned to a different sport for guidance.

In Major League Baseball, starting pitchers typically rest for four days between starts before pitching again on the fifth day, which is comparable to the six days of rests NFL quarterbacks receive between most games. So, when Brees approaches each week during the season, he tries to determine the best way to spend those six off days in order to be at maximum strength for the day of the game.
