Injuries kept New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and his favorite target far apart in 2020, with star wide receiver Michael Thomas sharing the field with Brees on just 10 of the 66 quarters of football the Saints played in the regular season (including two overtime periods). His late-season entry to the injured reserve list was designed to give Thomas enough time to finish healing his sprained ankle, and it sounds like he’s on his way back.
Brees said as much after Week 17’s win over the Carolina Panthers: “I know we get Mike Thomas back, I think the last three weeks being down have been great for him.
