New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees knows what it’s like to have the city on his shoulders. He first came to New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, a natural disaster that nearly leveled the place he was now calling home — and which had prompted talks of moving the team he’d just signed with.
Nobody’s even humoring the idea of that now. And it’s largely because of what Brees has accomplished in the years since, winning New Orleans its first Super Bowl and building a Hall of Fame-worthy resume. And when Brees looks at where things stand now, he sees someone in a similar position, in 19-year-old New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson.
