On Wednesday, the Saints signed former Jets linebacker Demario Davis to a 3-year, $24 million deal. Davis is one of the most highly rated linebackers in the league. Yet there are takes out there that there isn’t room on the roster for him.
Bleacher Report graded the deal to bring in Davis a D-. Their reasoning, believe it or not, is that Davis is not much of an upgrade over Manti Te’o. And apparently we’ve just entered the Upside Down. Or the Mad Hatter is now writing for Bleacher Report.
Whatever the case, the Saints didn’t look to spend $8 million a year on a player who they don’t intend to start.
