New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis was hit with a $28,075 fine by the NFL following a big hit on Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Geoff Swaim last week, per Amie Just of Nola.com. Davis was also flagged for unnecessary roughness at the time of the play, costing the Saints 15 yards of field position.
The hit occurred when Swaim was running a crossing route against the Saints zone defense. Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew threw his way, into Davis’s zone, and the Saints linebacker immediately slammed the tight end to the turf with a blow from his shoulder.
