New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis is proud of where he’s from. Before standing out for the Arkansas State Red Wolves in college, he played both wide receiver and linebacker in his hometown of Brandon, Miss., at the high school of the same name. He’s come a long way to lead a defense playing with more heat than maybe any other unit in the league right now.
So of course he’s happy to see another Brandon High School graduate making waves. That would be rookie Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew, whose path to the NFL began at Troy University before bouncing to Northwest Mississippi Community College, then East Carolina University, and ended at Washington State University.
