The Arizona Cardinals are gearing up to play the New Orleans Saints tonight, and two key players figure to make life hard for the home team: running back David Johnson and Swiss army knife Christian Kirk.
Johnson is one of the best backs in the NFL, on par with Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara as well as Todd Gurley, Devonta Freeman, and Le’Veon Bell. But he missed most of last season with an unlucky wrist injury and the Cardinals are slowly working him back in to full speed. He only got two carries in last week’s opener against the Los Angeles Chargers but made each of them count, gaining 14 yards each time.
