The New Orleans Saints wrapped up their final minicamp practices last week, and offensive line coach Dan Roushar left feeling impressed by the early returns from a tough competition to replace Max Unger at center.
Between a top draft pick in Erik McCoy, a third-year backup in Cameron Tom, and a free agent signing in Nick Easton, the Saints have plenty of options to fill in for the perennial Pro Bowler. And while it’s early, Roushar had a lot to say about the progress McCoy has made in his first few weeks on the job.
“I think it’s going pretty well,” Roushar said following a June 13 practice session.
