The New Orleans Saints entered the 2016 NFL Draft arguably needing to address OLB, DE, DT, WR, G, CB, S, and K. The Saints left the 2016 NFL Draft without having drafted an OLB, DE, G, CB, or K. The Saints could very well be planning on sticking with a veteran stop-gap kicker and crossing their fingers that the cornerbacks on their roster stay healthy all year, leaving only OLB, DE, and G (technically, TWO Guards were needed) as pressing needs.
While the Saints did in fact add two Guards as undrafted free agents (one being North Carolina's Landon Turner), that is a lot of pressure to put on two undrafted free agents as first-year starters.
