The New Orleans Saints picked five players in the 2019 NFL Draft, and signed all of them to contracts early in May, before rookie minicamp — including top selections Erik McCoy and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. Details on each of those contracts were first reported by Josh Katzenstein of the Times-Picayune and confirmed by Spotrac.com.
Rookie contract values are fixed to each draft slot, and signing bonus payouts are prorated onto each year for accounting purposes. Base salary increases with each season played, which explains the different salary cap hits you’ll see. In total, this year’s draft class will account for just $3,372,360 against the salary cap, and their total four-year value is $17,307,008.
