Coby Fleener's resurgence one of few bright spots in Saints' opener

METAIRIE, La. – Some familiar problems crept up for the New Orleans Saints in their season-opening loss to the Minnesota Vikings – especially on defense.

But one of the most promising developments in the 29-19 loss was the performance of tight end Coby Fleener, who showed signs of life after disappearing in New Orleans’ offense for much of last season.

Fleener tied for the Saints’ lead with 54 receiving yards on five catches – including the only touchdown of the game (an 8-yarder in the fourth quarter) and a terrific 24-yard catch on a contested seam route in the second quarter.
