NEW ORLEANS -- C.J. Spiller was declared inactive for the New Orleans Saints' Week 16 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, even though the running back was not on the injury report this week.
This is the latest setback in a disappointing season for the 28-year-old, who signed a four-year $16 million contract with the Saints in free agency.
And it begs the question of whether Spiller will be back in 2016.
The Saints wouldn't gain much financially by cutting Spiller. His $1.55 million roster bonus is fully guaranteed, so they could only save his $1.
