The New Orleans Saints are focusing in on the present and the future this week. The team opened up its offseason workout program Monday, while the NFL draft will be held in Chicago in less than two weeks.
Much of the heavy lifting in free agency is long gone with much of the focus on improving the roster squarely pointing at the draft, where the Saints currently hold nine picks next weekend.
The Saints' options during the draft should be relatively wide open even though the team landed players like C.J. Spiller, Brandon Browner, Max Unger, Kyle Wilson and Anthony Spencer this offseason.
