Big breaks don’t come along often in the offseason, but the New Orleans Saints caught a significant one from a study conducted by John Breech of CBS Sports. Breech and his team put together a formula to judge the strength of schedule for every NFL team, starting with Super Bowl odds from the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook and then weighing factors such as home and road splits, as well as two- and five-year trends in performance. They also weighted the significance of early-season games differently than late-season contests.
And what this all found was that the Saints have a sneakily-favorable schedule for a Super Bowl contender.
