New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan has seen a lot in his nine-year playing career. But the latest proposal from the NFL to extend the regular season gave him pause. In the reported suggestion, NFL owners would like to see the schedule expand to 18 games from the current 16, but with a catch: every player would be limited to just 16 appearances over the course of the season, in an attempt to keep them fresh and healthy.
“How would that even work?” Jordan said during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. “So, people come to a game to watch Drew Brees throw to Michael Thomas, watch (Alvin Kamara) take off from the backfield or catch out of the backfield, uprising stars to play.
