It’s only the first day of New Orleans Saints training camp, but we’re already seeing some good signs. Saints left guard Andrus Peat and right defensive end Alex Okafor each had to exit the 2017 campaign with season-ending lower leg injuries, but both players were cleared for practice and took their reps with the first team units.
Peat is just six months removed from a broken fibula but went through walkthroughs on opening day in the starting lineup. He’s come a long way since his rough rookie debut and was playing very good football down the stretch at left guard last season, and earned a fifth-year option pickup back in April.
