New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was recognized by Sports Illustrated as their 2018 Breakout of the Year, the publication announced Thursday night.
Sports Illustrated credited Kamara’s improved production after a historic rookie year. He’s run for 742 yards and 11 scores while gaining another 555 yards and four touchdowns through the air — all in just 12 games. As a rookie in 2017, Kamara logged 724 rushing yards through 16 games. SI celebrated the second-year pro for his central role in the Saints offense and his contributions toward another try at the Super Bowl.
This is a prelude to SI’s 2018 Sportsperson of the Year award, which will be announced on Dec.
