After Monday night's loss to the Minnesota Vikings the talk of the social media accounts nationwide was Adrian Peterson. Both for his lack of touches in the 29-19 defeat and an exchange ESPN's cameras caught between the future hall-of-famer and head coach Sean Payton near the end of the first half.
Peterson was filmed staring intently at his coach and yelling something at him which the running back said via Twitter was him encouraging Payton to "run it up their donkey" although in the clip he used a different word.
After the game Peterson downplayed the exchange and said Thursday the moment was "over-dramatized" but he understood why it drew so much attention.
