A season of high hopes quickly turned into a nightmare for the New Orleans Saints. Back in Week 2, the Saints traveled to take on the Los Angeles Rams; the unthinkable happened when franchise quarterback Drew Brees went down with a thumb injury, and was expected to miss maybe half the season. However, the future Hall of Famer insisted that he would beat the timetable of six to eight weeks. And he did, returning five weeks after surgery.
That brings us to the Saints’ backup quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater went on to lead the Saints to five straight wins, including road upsets over the Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears.
