The inexact science of the NFL Draft. Certainly, there can’t be a more maddening and futile exercise than to try to figure out which collegiate athlete who looked amazing on Saturdays will also look good on Sundays. Some players, Julio Jones, for example, looked like a stud in college and has only continued to progress. Then there are cases like Saints receiver Michael Thomas.
The 2016 NFL Draft was a receiver draft. We just saw another one of those with the 2019 NFL Draft but more backloaded. Or maybe coaches and GMs are just more guarded after the 2016 debacle.
