The New Orleans Saints could rest some of the starting players against the Carolina Panthers in Week 17, but a handful of big names will likely be lobbying for reps in the regular season finale. Some of them have records to chase that have stood decades, while others want to keep streaks alive.
Quarterback Drew Brees has to throw for only eight yards to meet the 4,000-yard threshold, making it his 13th such year and the most consecutive 4,000-yard seasons for a quarterback in NFL history, much less the Saints record-books. Right now, his 3,992 yards are the fewest he’s ever thrown while with the Saints.
