After being down 17-3, the New Orleans Saints, behind a stellar performance from Taysom Hill, won their first preseason game. Unlike in Week 1, it was Hill who seemed like the clear backup quarterback in Week 2.
To start this game, the Saints opened up to a quick 3-0 lead. They were then countered with 17 unanswered points that included an 81-yard punt return from Troymaine Pope. That was the game’s lone defensive score.
That said, an absolute beautiful throw by Hill interrupted the scoring streak from LA. Another quick touchdown and failed conversion made it 16-17 with just over half the fourth remaining.
