The Saints are not done upgrading their roster after all. Following a flurry of activity to open free agency, New Orleans had been relatively quiet as of late. On Wednesday that changed that when 13-year veteran tight end Benjamin Watson agreed to a one-year deal.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Watson will join Josh Hill, Coby Fleener and Michael Hoomanawanui at the position for 2018. Watson was with New Orleans from 2013 through 2015, appearing in 47 of a possible 48 games, including 31 starts.
He signed with the Ravens in 2016 after a 74-catch, six-touchdown season in 2015, but torn Achilles in preseason sidelined him for the year.
