This will be a fun exercise using Pro Football Focus scores to pit one team against another. But it’s not the typical matchup. In this one, it’s the 2009 New Orleans Saints against the 2019 New Orleans Saints. We’ll try to resolve which of the two teams is the better all-around and which is the better offense and the better defense.
The 2009 Saints team went on to win Super Bowl XLIV. The 2019 Saints will be trying to get to and win Super Bowl LIV. This won’t be a straight head to head matchup. We’ll be using numbers for the 2009 team that came at the end of that season.
