The NFL is expected to reduce rosters down to 80 players from 90 in its latest response to the Covid-19 novel coronavirus pandemic, which is tough news for many members of the New Orleans Saints. Ten players stand to lose their jobs before they’re even given a shot on the practice field.
Who could be on the short list of cut candidates for the Saints? Teams always sign some players with the expectation that they’ll just be “camp bodies,” brought in to fill out snaps in practice rotations rather than truly compete for roster spots.
Some undrafted rookies also might punted into the next offseason, when teams can call them up for minicamps and the usual slate of activities.
