The start of the 2017 NFL Draft is just over a week away, and the New Orleans Saints hold the No. 11 overall pick. The Saints could try to trade up or down, but it's a bit more likely they keep the first of their two first rounders. The Saints are targeting defense early in the draft, as they still need help across the board. Honorable mention to Clemson QB Deshaun Watson, who is a darkhorse for the No. 11 pick. With that in mind, here are the three players the Saints are the most likely to take with the No. 11 overall pick.
3. Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State
If the Saints don't address the front seven at No. 11, they'll likely go corner. Delvin Breaux is one starter, but P.J. Williams can't stay healthy and the rest of the group is unproven (and probably not that good). Conley could be the second CB off the board and would fit in New Orleans.
2. Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
If Foster lasts to No. 11, he could very well be the pick. Unfortunately, it's more likely he's taken in the Top 10. Even after adding A.J. Klein and Manti Te'o, the Saints need more LB help. Foster is a day one starter who will play all three downs. The Saints would love to end up with him.
1. Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan
There's a huge hole on the defensive line across from Cam Jordan. Charlton (or even Derek Barnett) can fill that hole. Charlton has the size teams want and exploded in the latter half of his final year at Michigan. He's a great fit for the Saints as a 4-3 DE. This is who I have the Saints taking in my mock draft.
