HOUSTON – Prior to Friday’s Southwest Division game at the Toyota Center, Pelicans second-year head coach Alvin Gentry paid his recently-inserted starting point guard one of the better compliments a player at that position can receive, making a Chris Paul comparison.
“That’s Chris Paul-like,” Gentry said of Tim Frazier’s recent five-game stretch, which has included a rarely-seen combination of 30 assists and only one turnover. “When he plays that way, where the basketball is moving and things are happening that way, it’s really, really helpful for our offense.”
