The New Orleans Pelicans signed Tony Allen this past Monday so expect him to soak up plenty of the minutes now available on the wing following the hamstring injury to Solomon Hill. Allen may be entering his age-36 season and he’ll never scare anyone outside of the paint, but he should help a team that looks to maintain their defensive identity they established last season.
Despite securing Allen, presume the Pelicans to seek to add another player to the roster. Yes, Martell Webster and Perry Jones III are slated to be in training camp, but expectations for both should be extremely low as neither has contributed meaningful minutes in the league for years.
