HOUSTON – With Anthony Davis getting his first breather of preseason, sitting out Monday’s game in order to rest, New Orleans will slide Ryan Anderson into Davis’ starting spot at power forward. Anderson is fairly familiar with fill-in duty at the four position, having started five times during the 2014-15 regular season – all when Davis was sidelined by injury.
“We’ll put Ryan in his place and go from there,” Pelicans Coach Alvin Gentry said. “(Davis has) been practicing really hard. This was a perfect time to get him a little rest before he gears up for the last two preseason games.
