Today, reports surfaced about a potential deal sending Chicago Bulls stretch-big Nikola Mirotic to the New Orleans Pelicans that has apparently “fallen through.” According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com the deal would have seen center Omer Asik and a future first round pick head to the “Windy City” in exchange for Mirotic.
This deal would have been exactly what New Orleans needed. After losing All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins for the remainder of the year, NOLA’s current status looks a tad bit bleak. Adding a versatile stretch big (6-10) in Mirotic would have been a fine transaction.
