Warriors (3-0), Pelicans (0-3)
The opponent’s leading scorers in New Orleans’ first two regular season games piled up 40 and 37 points, respectively. As it turns out, that was merely a warmup compared to what Golden State guard Stephen Curry produced Saturday. Four days after his 40-point eruption in only three quarters vs. the Pelicans, the NBA’s reigning MVP this time went ballistic in the third quarter Saturday, going for a career-best 28 points in the period. That third-period exhibition highlighted Curry’s 53-point game, the second-highest output of his decorated pro career.

Curry stole an outlet pass and fed Harrison Barnes for a dunk, giving Golden State a 121-108 lead with three-plus minutes remaining.
