Postgame: Pelicans 110, Knicks 96

Pelicans (15-24), Knicks (17-21)

NEW YORK – It was shaping up to be a virtually perfect Monday night for New Orleans. Until Anthony Davis soared to the hoop late in the third quarter on a fast break.

With Davis poised to throw down a highlight-reel dunk, New York’s Kyle O’Quinn made hard contact with the three-time All-Star from behind, sending Davis sprawling across the floor and into the first row of the baseline stands. After the play was ruled a flagrant foul-penalty 2 on O’Quinn, Davis stepped to the line and sank two free throws, giving him 40 points.
