JACKSONVILLE – With three New Orleans Pelicans veteran returnees sidelined, likely for the remainder of the preseason schedule, the roster of players available in Friday’s game vs. Atlanta will be 15. However, two Pelicans will be in uniform for the first time during the exhibition slate.
After missing Saturday’s opener at Indiana due to banging knees with another player during training camp, point guard Tyreke Evans will be on the floor Friday. In addition, reserve wing Alonzo Gee is back, after being away from the team for the birth of a son.
Evans is expected to start; Jrue Holiday started Saturday at point guard and played the first 10 minutes of the win over the Pacers, fulfilling his entire restriction of 10 minutes per game.
