WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – With a wry smile, Pelicans Coach Alvin Gentry jokingly explained that it was arranged for his players to do skeet shooting later Wednesday because it’s an activity that should come naturally to them. In reality, it’s doubtful many Pelicans have much experience with what’s primarily a rural pursuit.
“I’m sure all of these guys grew up skeet shooting, so it’ll be a natural thing I’m sure,” Gentry said, grinning. “No, I think it’s good, because it’s totally outside the box. We’ll have a little fun with that. They’ve worked extremely hard in the three practices we’ve had (in training camp).
