It appears that the New Orleans Pelicans are the latest team to get hit with the injury bug.
As first reported by ESPN’s Malika Andrews, Darius Miller will be sidelined at least seven to eight months with a torn Achilles. He is set to begin rehab next week.
Miller, 29, played a significant role off the bench for the Pelicans last season — averaging 8.2 points on 46.7 percent shooting in 25.5 minutes per game. While it’s possible the team could add another veteran swingman to the fold, with BIG3 MVP Joe Johnson being among the current candidates, this team is still anything but bone dry at the 3 and 4 spots, so it shouldn’t cause any panic if Johnson decides to go with another suitable destination.
