On January 12th of this year, the New Orleans Pelicans third-wheeled their way into a trade centered around the Memphis Grizzlies’ acquisition of then Boston Celtic Jeff Green. Doing so rendered the once highly valued Quincy Pondexter pretty boxed out of minutes on a team that already featured heavy minutes with Tony Allen at the three and another young wing in Jordan Adams, something the Pelicans took advantage of.
For the small price of young guards Austin Rivers and Russ Smith, the Pelicans jumped at the opportunity to reacquired Q-Pon, who spent his rookie 2010-11 season with the franchise.
