Buddy Hield, the New Orleans Pelicans’ first-round selection this year, has high expectations to live up to.
A rare four-year letter at the University of Oklahoma, Hield continued to improve each season. He eventually became the team captain and arguably the best player in the country during his senior year.
Hield averaged 25 points per game and shot nearly 46 percent from beyond the arc to lead the Sooners to a 2-seed in the NCAA tournament. The team went on to earn a Final Four appearance, while Hield earned himself the Naismith Award for Best College Basketball Player in the country.
