In the past week or so the New Orleans Pelicans coaching search has seemed to take a turn that doesn’t involve current Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau. With Chicago seeming ready to either receive compensation for Thibodeau or wait for all the currently open NBA head coaching jobs to fill before firing him, it just didn’t see worth it for New Orleans to wait on Thibodeau.
Suddenly though, things changed for the Bulls and Thibodeau, with reports coming out today that Chicago may in fact be willing to let him go without compensation. What exactly that means in regards to the Pelicans and Thibodeau remains to be seen but one interesting tidbit that came from the similar report is that the Pelicans may have been trying to scare the Bulls into the move earlier.
