Things are now basically set. With the addition of Kendrick Perkins on Tuesday night and the re-signings of the important rotation pieces that were free agents, the New Orleans Pelicans are heading into the future looking for internal improvements that to move them towards contention.
One of the biggest reasons that will happen is the coaching upgrade from Monty Williams to Alvin Gentry. With the offensive mind of Gentry now on staff, the Pelicans should be able to take a team that was already one of the ten best offenses but offensive efficiency last season and make them one of the best three in the entire league.
