According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, The New Orleans Pelicans have signed free agent point guard, and Louisiana native, Elfrid Payton. The deal is reportedly for one year however, specific numbers have not been clarified. Though it may not be the splashiest deal NOLA fans were/ are hoping for, the organization is bringing on a talented player at a position they could certainly use more depth at.
From 2011-14 Payton played collegially at NOLA’s own University of Louisiana at Lafayette. In three seasons the point guard put up overall averages of 14.3 PPG, 4.9 APG and 5.
